PhD Connector Grants – Call now open
Strengthen your PhD through international collaboration
The LS4FUTURE PhD Connector Grants call is now open and offers LS4FUTURE PhD students the opportunity to undertake a research mission in a European laboratory between September and December 2026.
The programme aims to foster scientific exchanges, strengthen international collaborations, and support doctoral research through access to complementary expertise, multidisciplinary approaches, and research environments beyond the student’s primary field.
Up to five grants—one per participating institution—will be awarded. Each grant provides up to €1,250 to cover travel and accommodation costs associated with the mission.
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- Be affiliated with one of the LS4FUTURE participating institutions (ITQB NOVA, NMS, iBET, IPO or NIMSB);
- Belong to one of the LS4FUTURE research units (iNOVA4Health, MOSTMICRO or Green-IT);
- Have completed at least 18 months of their PhD programme.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a PhD student of one of the 5 participating institutions (ITQB, NMS, NIMSB, IPO and iBET) and affiliated with one of the LS4FUTURE research units (iNOVA4Health, MOSTMICRO, or Green-IT).
- Have completed the first 18 months of their doctoral degree.
How to apply
Submit the application form, a short CV, and a support letter from the host supervisor to ls4future@ls4future.pt, copying both your PhD supervisor and host supervisor.
