LS4FUTURE TL3 Mini-Symposium brings full house and vibrant discussions on biopharmaceutical innovation
29/05/2026
The LS4FUTURE Thematic Line 3 (Advanced Therapeutics: Discovery and Development) Mini-Symposium, held yesterday at the ITQB NOVA Auditorium, was met with an outstanding response, filling the room with researchers, industry professionals, and students eager to explore the journey of biopharmaceuticals from concept to clinic.
Under the theme “Bio-pharmaceuticals: From Design to Development”, the event successfully delivered a comprehensive view of the translational pipeline, spanning computational design, screening strategies, discovery phases, and clinical development. The programme featured contributions from LS4FUTURE researchers (João Vicente from ITQB NOVA, Ana Sofia Coroadinha from iBET), alongside representatives from industry, including Bruno Victor from CoLab AccelBio, João Seixas from TargTex, Sofia Venceslau from GeniBET, and Fabio Lampreia from CoLab TRIALS, with the participation of additional invited experts from STAB VIDA, and ViSync, as well as from ITQB NOVA and NMS Tech-Transfer offices.
Throughout the afternoon, speakers shared not only technical knowledge but also practical perspectives on how scientific discoveries evolve into therapeutic solutions. The session was a great opportunity, particularly for early-career researchers, to understand and explore potential translational and industry-oriented paths.
The networking moments proved very dynamic, with discussions extending beyond the formal sessions, culminating in a lively Wine & Cheese gathering, and conversations flowed naturally across disciplines and sectors. The event created a fertile environment for new connections, idea exchange, and potential collaborations within and beyond the LS4FUTURE community.
This Mini-Symposium once again highlighted the importance of bridging academia and industry, reinforcing LS4FUTURE’s role in fostering dialogue and advancing innovation in life sciences.
