Engaging and energyzing. A career development training 100% recommended

13/10/2026

On 7 October, we had the pleasure of providing a cohort of participants from our community with hands-on training to develop their self-awareness to navigate better their future career transition.

Through a series of practical exercises, participants learned to identify their skills and strengths, as well as their personality traits and personal drivers. Thanks to peer coaching and open discussions, they also reflected on what success meant to them and explored the different career options that could be a good fit for them. In small groups, they discussed career transitions and how to build professional networks.

The trainer, Roni Wright, facilitated these interactions and provided participants with tools to develop their career strategies. The process started with self-assessment (values, motivations, skills, etc.), followed by career exploration and, where needed, identifying opportunities to develop new skills. All of this came together in an action plan to help participants take their next career step.

The day went smoothly, with strong engagement from all participants and energising conversations enriched by everyone’s experiences and insights. All this took place against the beautiful sight of Carcavelos Beach, at the extraordinary NMS Campus de Carcavelos venue.

With an overall feedback rating of 4.9/5, we’re delighted that everyone would recommend this workshop to another researcher.

And we couldn’t be happier!

A big THANK YOU to SIRIS Academic, Roni Wright, the NMS Campus de Carcavelos team, and all the participants for making this happen!
